The Soup Factory

This soup factory recently received numerous complaints about buyers getting some boxes without the soup inside. Thus the 6 team members assembled in a meeting to discuss for a solution. We shall call these 6 members, Mr Red, Mr Black, Mr Green, Mr Yellow, Mr White and Mr Blue respectively.

Each contributed their effort. Finally Mr Green suggested of inventing a machine with an x-ray camera so that when these soup boxes passed though the conveyor belt, the camera could detect all empty boxes. Mr Yellow loved this idea and was saying they could even sell this machine if it was successful. Mr Red had the gut to believe this could work well. However, Mr Black thought it would not succeed as there were no similar machine in the market and by past experience, it should not work well. Mr White volunteered to gather all information and researches. So Mr Blue, did the planning and make sure the whole process went smoothly.

Some 2 years later, the machine was neatly placed beside the conveyer belt and was smartly detecting every empty box that passed through.

Complaints dropped to ZERO.

The floor cleaner Mr SP came into the room and was surprised to see a new machine in the room. ‘Hey, that’s a great machine, what's it for?’

“This machine is our latest invention and cost us 17 millions to put all the parts together.” Mr Green said proudly, “and I am the one who invented it !”

Mr SP inspected the machine closely, “great, but what is it for?”

Mr Yellow said, “Well, to reduce the chance for those soup boxes passing through the finishing line empty.”

Mr SP went around the conveyer belt, “huh, 17 million dollars for this machine?". He saw a standing fan at the corner of the room took it and placed it next to the belt. When the fan started blowing, some empty boxes began to blow off the belt.

“Ah huh, aren't the problem solved and just need a simple solution?’ SP pronounced.

Can we simplify this story?
